What This Skill Does
Structures how Claude handles communication tasks by gathering context, detecting emotional subtext, and applying psychology frameworks before drafting a message. Follows five stages: collect context, listen deeply, weigh principles, craft the response, and refine.
Applies structured communication psychology, tone calibration, and subtext analysis rather than just rephrasing what the user provides.
When to use it
- Drafting an email after a conflict with a colleague
- Responding to a passive-aggressive message from a friend
- Writing feedback to a direct report about missed expectations
- Crafting a reply to an upset client
- Navigating a sensitive conversation with a family member
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: My manager sent a curt email about a missed deadline. Help me respond.
- 1Gather context about the relationship, communication channel, and what was implied vs. said
- 2Analyze emotional subtext and identify what the manager likely needs
- 3Select Acknowledge-Bridge-Guide structure for a difficult conversation
- 4Calibrate tone to warm and direct, avoiding defensiveness
- 5Draft response and verify it achieves the objective and respects the relationship
A formatted draft with a one-line context summary, rationale for the tone chosen, and the ready-to-send message
