What This Skill Does
Generates structured CTF writeups from solving session notes. Given challenge details and solve steps, it detects flag formats, categorizes the challenge type, and outputs formatted markdown with metadata, code blocks, and a tools section. Supports platform-specific templates for HackTheBox, TryHackMe, OffSec, and Jeopardy-style CTFs.
Manually formatting raw solving notes into a structured writeup requires repetitive effort; this automates flag detection, challenge categorization, and markdown structure in a single pass.
When to use it
- Documenting a HackTheBox machine walkthrough after getting root
- Formatting Jeopardy CTF solutions for public posting after a competition
- Building a portfolio of solved security challenges
- Turning rough TryHackMe notes into shareable markdown
- Creating educational writeups for a cybersecurity training course
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Generate a writeup for the 'Binary Bash' Shaastra CTF challenge. It was a buffer overflow where I overwrote the return address. Flag is Shaastra{buff3r_0v3rfl0w_m4st3r}
- 1Asks for additional details including tools used, exact exploit steps, difficulty, and point value
- 2Detects the Shaastra flag format and validates it against the provided flag
- 3Categorizes the challenge as Binary Exploitation based on buffer overflow keywords
- 4Structures the writeup with metadata, reconnaissance, step-by-step solution with GDB commands and assembly code blocks, and key takeaways
- 5Saves the output as shaastra_binary-bash_writeup.md
A markdown file with challenge metadata, buffer overflow walkthrough, annotated GDB commands, tools section listing tools like pwntools, and the validated flag
