What This Skill Does
The MCP Atlassian server connects AI agents to Jira and Atlassian services via the Model Context Protocol. It runs as a Docker container, using your Jira credentials to expose project management operations programmatically.
Wraps Atlassian's REST API in a standardized MCP interface, so any MCP-compatible agent can access Jira without writing custom integration code.
When to use it
- Query open Jira issues assigned to you
- Create and update tasks in a Jira project from an agent
- Search Confluence pages within an automated workflow
- Triage incoming bug reports into Jira sprints
- Pull sprint status for a standup summary

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

- 2Constructs a JQL query filtering by assignee and issue type
- 3Executes the query against the Jira instance
- 4Returns structured results with issue IDs, titles, priorities, and status
