What This Skill Does
Fetches read-only factual data about historical Ethereum mainnet contracts from the EthereumHistory.com archive. Returns deployment details (block, timestamp, deployer), runtime bytecode, decompiled code, and editorial history when documented. Covers all major early eras including Frontier, Homestead, and the DAO fork period.
Aggregates deployment context, bytecode, decompiled code, and historical editorial notes in a single structured API call, rather than piecing this together from block explorers manually.
When to use it
- Look up who deployed a specific Ethereum contract address
- Find contracts deployed during the Frontier or Homestead era
- Retrieve decompiled bytecode for an early on-chain contract
- Browse undocumented historical contracts awaiting description
- Check deployment block and timestamp for a known contract
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: What can you tell me about the contract at 0xdbf03b407c01e7cd3cbea99509d93f8dddc8c6fb?
- 1Call GET https://ethereumhistory.com/api/agent/contracts/0xdbf03b407c01e7cd3cbea99509d93f8dddc8c6fb
- 2Extract era, deployer_address, deployment_block, and deployment_timestamp from the response
- 3Read short_description and historical_summary if present
- 4Include decompiled_code if the user asked for technical details
- 5Present the factual record to the user
Contract deployed in the Frontier era at a specific block, with deployer address, historical summary, and decompiled code if available
