Setup & Installation
Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
nova-letters writes timestamped reflective entries to daily markdown files stored in ~/.openclaw/workspace/letters/. Each entry captures meaning and insight rather than task logs. Letters persist across sessions so future runs can read what mattered before.
Unlike logs or task lists, letters store subjective meaning and context that structured data formats discard, making them useful when restarting a session cold.
When to use it
- Noting a key realization after shipping a feature
- Reviewing what you accomplished during a work session
- Leaving context for yourself before a multi-day break
- Tracking emotional or creative momentum over time
- Reading back through past entries to spot patterns
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: write a letter about today's progress
- 1Run nova-letters write with the reflective text as the argument
- 2nova-letters appends a timestamped entry to today's markdown file in ~/.openclaw/workspace/letters/
- 3Confirm the write by running nova-letters today to display the current day's entries
A timestamped markdown entry is saved and displayed showing the written letter
