Version History

v0.1.5Feb 11, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

- Metadata updated to document new requirements: path to config file (`~/.config/caldav-cli/config.json`) and keychain usage. - No changes to commands, features, or usage; documentation update only.

What This Skill Does

caldav-cli manages CalDAV calendars from the terminal. It supports iCloud, Google Calendar, Yandex, and custom CalDAV servers with OAuth2 or Basic auth. Credentials are stored in the OS keychain, never written to disk in plaintext.

Storing OAuth2 tokens in the OS keychain rather than a plaintext config file makes it safer than most CLI calendar tools.

When to use it

  • List today's meetings without opening a browser
  • Create a recurring standup event from a shell script
  • Query calendar events as JSON for automation pipelines
  • Switch between personal and work calendars by account name
  • Bulk-add events from a cron job or CI workflow

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: show me all events on my work account for next week and export them as JSON

AGENT
  1. 1Run `caldav-cli account list` to confirm the work account name
  2. 2Run `caldav-cli events list -a work --from 2026-03-16 --to 2026-03-20 --json`
  3. 3Parse the JSON output to extract titles, times, and calendar names
  4. 4Return formatted results to the user
OUTPUT

A JSON array of next week's events from the work account, including titles, start/end times, and calendar names
