What This Skill Does
Azure CLI is Microsoft's cross-platform command-line tool for managing Azure cloud resources. It covers compute, networking, storage, databases, Kubernetes, and more across 66 command modules. Authentication supports interactive login, service principals, and managed identities.
Azure CLI's built-in JMESPath query support and shell-scriptable output formats make it faster to automate resource workflows than navigating the Azure Portal.
When to use it
- Spinning up and managing virtual machines from the terminal
- Deploying AKS clusters and fetching kubeconfig credentials
- Automating resource cleanup scripts in CI/CD pipelines
- Querying resource states across subscriptions with JMESPath filters
- Managing storage accounts and uploading blobs in batch operations
