Controls LaMetric TIME and SKY smart displays from the command line. Supports sending notifications with icons and sounds, adjusting brightness and volume, managing timers, and streaming images or video to the display.
Lets you integrate LaMetric displays into shell scripts and CI pipelines without using the mobile app or a third-party automation platform.
When to use it
- Send a build pass/fail alert to your desk display from CI
- Set a 25-minute Pomodoro timer without touching the device
- Show a CPU usage sparkline chart during a monitoring session
- Get a meeting reminder with alarm sound 5 minutes before
- Stream an animated GIF to the display from a local file
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: notify me on my LaMetric when a deployment finishes
- 1Run `lametric discover` to find the device IP on the local network
- 2Set the API key with `lametric auth set-key --device=living-room`
- 3Add `lametric notify "Deployed to prod" --icon=rocket --sound=positive2` to the end of the deploy script
- 4Optionally add `--priority=critical` for failed deploys with `--sound=alarm1`
LaMetric display shows the deployment message with rocket icon and plays a success sound
