Version History

v0.1.4Feb 17, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Restore install script; declare NOSTR_SECRET_KEY requirement in description.

What This Skill Does

Manages Nostr activity through the nak CLI tool. Handles publishing notes, replying in threads with correct root/reply tagging, and querying relays for replies and mentions. Requires a Nostr secret key for signing and publishing events.

nak handles the low-level event signing and relay communication that would otherwise require manual JSON construction and WebSocket management.

When to use it

  • Post a new note to a Nostr relay
  • Reply to a thread with proper root and reply tags
  • Check who mentioned your pubkey on a relay
  • Monitor replies to a specific note
  • Tag other users by npub when publishing events

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: reply to a Nostr thread and check for any new mentions

AGENT
  1. 1Read NOSTR_SECRET_KEY from environment
  2. 2Fetch the root and reply event IDs from the thread
  3. 3Publish a reply event with correct root and reply e-tags using nak event
  4. 4Query the relay for mentions of the user's pubkey using nak req -p
OUTPUT

Reply published to wss://relay.primal.net and a list of recent mention events returned
