What This Skill Does

timely is a CLI tool for creating and viewing Apple Reminders on macOS. It supports location-based triggers (arrive/depart) and natural language due dates, operating silently through EventKit without opening the Reminders app.

Lets you create location-triggered reminders from scripts or terminal workflows without any GUI interaction.

When to use it

  • Set a reminder to buy groceries when arriving at a specific store
  • Create a reminder to text someone when leaving the office
  • Schedule a time-based reminder for a Friday deadline
  • View upcoming reminders in a specific iCloud list from the terminal
  • Add reminders to shared family iCloud lists by list name

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: remind me to pick up my prescription when I arrive at CVS today

AGENT
  1. 1Run `timely lists` to confirm the target list name
  2. 2Construct the add command with --due today, --location CVS, --address, and --arrive flags
  3. 3Run `timely add Reminders "Pick up prescription" --due "today" --location "CVS" --address "789 Pharmacy Rd" --arrive`
  4. 4Confirm reminder was created by running `timely show Reminders 5`
OUTPUT

Reminder appears in the Reminders app and triggers a notification when the user's device enters the geofence around the CVS address
