Version History

v1.1.1Feb 17, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Security: removed hardcoded WSL path, strict allowlist for app names, numeric validation with regex

What This Skill Does

Exposes device control actions — volume, brightness, app launch, and app close — as a command-line tool. Works across Linux, macOS, Windows, and WSL. All inputs are sanitized to block command injection.

Wraps platform-specific commands (osascript, pactl, nircmd, WMI) behind a single consistent interface so cross-platform automation scripts don't need OS detection logic.

When to use it

  • Mute audio before joining a video call
  • Dim screen brightness at night
  • Open a specific app from an automation script
  • Close a crashed application without touching the GUI
  • Adjust volume incrementally during a presentation

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: set volume to 30% and open Firefox

AGENT
  1. 1Call device_control with action set_volume and value 30
  2. 2Confirm volume change succeeded
  3. 3Call device_control with action open_app and app firefox
  4. 4Confirm Firefox launched
OUTPUT

Volume set to 30% and Firefox opened
