What This Skill Does

Classifies the current macro environment into one of six regimes (Risk-On Bull, Neutral, Risk-Off Bear, Inflationary, Stagflation, Liquidity Crisis) using live data from Fear & Greed Index, Reddit sentiment, news NLP, and on-chain signals. Returns a regime letter, confidence percentage, three supporting signals, and a positioning recommendation.

Aggregates six distinct signal sources into a single actionable regime label, removing the need to manually cross-reference Fear & Greed, VIX, DXY, and Reddit sentiment separately.

When to use it

  • Checking whether to add crypto exposure before a Fed announcement
  • Getting a risk-on vs risk-off read after a CPI surprise print
  • Deciding whether to hold or reduce BTC during rising DXY
  • Assessing stagflation risk when inflation and recession fears coincide
  • Framing portfolio positioning during a liquidity squeeze

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: What macro regime are we in right now?

AGENT
  1. 1Fetches Fear & Greed score from alternative.me/fng
  2. 2Scans r/CryptoCurrency and r/investing hot posts for bearish/bullish ratio
  3. 3Checks BTC/USD price action as a DXY proxy
  4. 4Runs NLP on recent headlines for Fed, CPI, NFP, or SEC events
  5. 5Aggregates signals and assigns a regime letter with confidence score
OUTPUT

Regime C — Risk-Off Bear (74% confidence). Supporting signals: F&G=22 (Extreme Fear), DXY trending up, VIX=28. Recommendation: reduce crypto exposure, consider stablecoin allocation.
