What This Skill Does

Connects to the Powerdrill API to manage datasets, upload files, run natural-language queries against structured data, and retrieve charts and tables as output. Wraps the full dataset and session lifecycle through a Python client script.

Natural-language querying removes the need to write SQL or Python data wrangling code for common exploratory analysis tasks.

When to use it

  • Uploading a CSV and asking what the top revenue drivers are
  • Querying an existing sales dataset for regional breakdowns
  • Visualizing trends in a spreadsheet without writing SQL
  • Cleaning up analysis sessions and datasets after a report is done
  • Listing all datasets in an account to find one for re-analysis

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: analyze /path/to/sales.csv and show key trends by region

AGENT
  1. 1Create a new dataset with create_dataset()
  2. 2Upload the file with upload_and_create_data_source() and wait for sync with wait_for_dataset_sync()
  3. 3Create an analysis session with create_session()
  4. 4Run create_job() with 'What are the key trends?' then a follow-up 'Break this down by region'
  5. 5Print MESSAGE blocks and present TABLE/IMAGE URLs, then call cleanup()
OUTPUT

Analytical summary text with regional breakdown table URL and chart image URL
