What This Skill Does

Manages Apache CloudStack infrastructure through the cloudmonkey (cmk) CLI. Supports VM lifecycle operations, network management, volume and snapshot handling, and direct CloudStack API access.

Direct CLI access to CloudStack APIs covers the full management surface without requiring the web UI or custom scripts.

When to use it

  • List and filter running VMs by state or name
  • Stop or start VMs in a specific availability zone
  • Create a volume snapshot before a risky deployment
  • Switch between multiple CloudStack environment profiles
  • Discover available API commands for a custom operation

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: stop the VM named web-prod-01

AGENT
  1. 1Run `cmk list virtualmachines name=web-prod-01` to find the VM UUID
  2. 2Extract the UUID from the output
  3. 3Confirm the stop operation with the user
  4. 4Run `cmk stop virtualmachine id=<uuid>` to stop the VM
  5. 5Verify with `cmk list virtualmachines id=<uuid>` that state is Stopped
OUTPUT

VM web-prod-01 is stopped
