What This Skill Does
Rue is a type-safe language that compiles to CLVM bytecode for deploying smart contracts on the Chia blockchain. It provides a structured syntax for writing coin puzzles with conditions like timelocks, multisig, escrow, and atomic swaps. Projects initialize with a CLI tool, compile with `rue build`, and simulate with `brun`.
Rue's type system catches errors at compile time that raw ChiaLisp would only surface during on-chain execution.
When to use it
- Writing a timelock puzzle that releases funds after a specific block height
- Building a 2-of-3 multisig wallet for shared custody of Chia coins
- Implementing an atomic swap between two parties without a trusted intermediary
- Creating a recurring subscription payment with spending limits
- Setting up an escrow with a third-party arbiter for conditional release
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: create a coin that can only be spent after block 5000000 and sends funds to a specific address
- 1Map request to the Timelock pattern using `examples/timelock.rue` as reference
- 2Write a Rue function with `unlock_height: Int` and `dest: Bytes32` as parameters
- 3Add `AssertHeightAbsolute` and `CreateCoin` conditions to the return list
- 4Run `rue build puzzles/timelock.rue` to compile to CLVM bytecode
- 5Simulate with `brun "$CLVM" "(5000000 <dest_hash> <amount>)"` to verify output conditions
CLVM bytecode ready for deployment, plus simulated condition output confirming the height assertion and coin creation
