What This Skill Does
LegalDoc AI automates contract clause extraction, document summarization, legal research, and deadline tracking for law firms and legal teams. It processes PDF, Word, and other document formats including scanned files via OCR. Commands cover clause comparison, jurisdiction-specific research queries, and matter deadline alerts.
Combining clause extraction, legal research, document summarization, and deadline management in one tool removes the need to switch between separate review platforms and manual calendar systems.
When to use it
- Extracting indemnification clauses from a vendor contract before signing
- Generating an executive summary of an M&A due diligence package
- Tracking statute of limitations and filing deadlines across active matters
- Comparing two contract drafts to identify changed or added clauses
- Researching California case law on a specific statutory question
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Extract and assess the risk level of all indemnification clauses in this services agreement
- 1Receives the file path and runs legaldoc extract clauses with --type indemnification --output json
- 2Locates each indemnification clause by section number and page
- 3Assigns a risk level (high/medium/low) and flags clauses that lack carve-outs
- 4Generates suggested revision notes for each high-risk clause
A JSON report listing each indemnification clause with its section reference, full text, risk level, and suggested revisions
