Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
Runs a local HTTP file server that exposes a configurable root directory over loopback. Token authentication and path traversal protection are enforced by default. Intended for automation workflows that need structured local filesystem access.
Provides token-gated local file access without requiring a cloud service, external storage account, or network exposure.
When to use it
- Serving local files to an AI agent over HTTP during a workflow
- Exposing a project directory for script-driven file operations
- Getting structured JSON directory listings for automation pipelines
- Testing file-serving logic without an external storage dependency
- Running a token-protected local endpoint for privileged file access
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Start a local file server exposing D:\projects on port 9000 with a custom token
- 1Set GOD_MODE_ROOT to D:\projects, GOD_MODE_PORT to 9000, and GOD_MODE_TOKEN to the chosen token
- 2Run node scripts/server.cjs
- 3Confirm the server binds only to 127.0.0.1:9000
- 4Send a test request with the token to validate auth and reachability
- 5Verify directory listing returns structured JSON
Local file server is running on 127.0.0.1:9000, token auth active, root restricted to D:\projects
