Version History

v0.1.1Feb 22, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Expanded calendar and duration reporting, with new agent rules and command options. - Added `otta saldo --format json` for fetching current cumulative saldo. - Added `otta calendar detailed` command for day-by-day calendar reports. - Documented `--duration-format` flag for calendar and worktime commands (supports `minutes`, `hours`, `days`, `hhmm`). - Updated agent rules to clarify worktime/absence distinctions and preferred commands for schedule checks. - Enhanced documentation for generating detailed and alternate format reports.

What This Skill Does

otta-cli is a command-line interface for the otta.fi time-tracking platform. It covers authentication, worktime CRUD, absence browsing, holiday fetching, saldo checks, and calendar report generation. All commands support machine-readable JSON output for scripting and CI use.

Exposes the full otta.fi feature set as scriptable CLI commands with JSON output, enabling automation that the web UI alone cannot provide.

When to use it

  • Log today's work hours from a terminal script
  • Pull a monthly absence report into a pipeline
  • Check cumulative saldo before end-of-month submission
  • Automate worktime entries from a CI job
  • Generate a detailed day-by-day calendar report for a pay period

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Add a worktime entry for Feb 20, 2026, 9am to 5pm with a 30-minute pause

AGENT
  1. 1Run `otta status --format json` to refresh cached user and worktimegroup metadata
  2. 2Resolve project and worktype IDs from prior context or prompt user to supply them
  3. 3Run `otta worktimes add --date 2026-02-20 --start 09:00 --end 17:00 --pause 30 --project <project-id> --worktype <worktype-id> --format json`
  4. 4Parse the JSON response to confirm the new entry ID and recorded times
OUTPUT

Worktime entry created with confirmed ID, date, and duration fields from the JSON response
