Setup & Installation
Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
Queries ecobee thermostat data through the Beestat API. Returns current temperature, humidity, setpoints, air quality readings (CO2 and VOC), sensor occupancy, and HVAC runtime history. Requires a Beestat account linked to an ecobee device.
Exposes ecobee data in a scriptable CLI format, making it usable in automations and agent workflows without a browser or the ecobee app.
When to use it
- Check current indoor temperature and humidity
- Monitor CO2 and VOC levels before opening windows
- See which rooms are occupied via ecobee sensors
- Review how long heating or cooling ran over the past week
- Get thermostat model and HVAC system details
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Is the air quality in the house okay right now?
- 1Run `beestat aq` to fetch current CO2 and VOC readings
- 2Parse CO2 ppm value and compare against thresholds (< 800 excellent, > 1500 high)
- 3Parse VOC ppm value and compare against thresholds (< 0.5 excellent, > 3.0 high)
- 4Return air quality score with plain-language assessment
CO2 is 950 ppm (Good) and VOC is 0.3 ppm (Excellent). Air quality is acceptable, no ventilation needed.
