What This Skill Does

A local personal finance tracker that parses natural language expense entries and organizes them into categories, budgets, and reports. Supports 25 features including income tracking, savings goals, recurring payments, bill splitting, and gamified streaks. No account or internet connection required — all data is stored in files on the user's machine.

Unlike Mint, YNAB, or PocketGuard, it requires no account, sends no data to any server, and works entirely through typed natural language.

When to use it

  • Logging a coffee purchase by typing 'coffee 5'
  • Checking how much you've spent on food this month
  • Setting a $500 grocery budget and getting alerts when close
  • Splitting a restaurant bill evenly among friends
  • Tracking progress toward a vacation savings goal

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: spent 25 on lunch

AGENT
  1. 1Parse the natural language input for amount ($25) and description ('lunch')
  2. 2Auto-categorize as Food based on keyword matching
  3. 3Write a new entry to expenses.json with date, amount, category, and generated ID
  4. 4Check budgets.json for an active Food budget and calculate remaining balance
  5. 5Update streak_days and last_log_date in settings.json
OUTPUT

Confirmation line showing $25 logged under Food, today's running total, and remaining Food budget if one is set
