What This Skill Does
Connects to the Notion API to create, read, update, and query pages, databases, and blocks. Uses the 2025-09-03 API version where databases are called data sources with separate IDs for creation and querying.
Direct API access lets agents read and write Notion content without opening a browser or relying on copy-paste workflows.
When to use it
- Add new tasks to a Notion project tracker
- Query a database filtered by status or date
- Append meeting notes to an existing page
- Create a new database with custom properties inside a page
- Update page properties like status or due date in bulk
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: add a new task called 'Write release notes' with status Todo to my Tasks database
- 1Search for the Tasks database using POST /v1/search to get its database_id
- 2Confirm the correct database is found in search results
- 3POST /v1/pages with parent.database_id, Name title property set to 'Write release notes', and Status select set to 'Todo'
- 4Return the new page ID and a confirmation
