What This Skill Does
Nexus-Sentinel is an autonomous SRE agent that diagnoses service failures, optimizes system resources, and manages configuration backups. It enforces safety guardrails including a two-restart-per-hour cap and requires explicit approval before uploading files that may contain secrets to cloud storage.
Combines diagnostics, recovery, and backup into one agent with built-in guardrails that prevent runaway restarts and accidental secret exposure without adding separate monitoring tooling.
When to use it
- Diagnosing why a production service crashed
- Running a post-incident activity briefing
- Rotating logs and clearing temporary files
- Recovering a crashed service through a structured logs, DB, restart sequence
- Backing up service configurations to Google Drive
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: /nexus recover api-server
- 1Run sentinel.py analyze api-server to classify the failure as software or infrastructure
- 2Check recent service logs for errors
- 3Verify database connectivity
- 4Attempt a service restart if the hourly restart limit has not been reached
- 5Send a diagnostic report to the configured WhatsApp number or escalate to alert mode if the limit is exceeded
Service is recovered and a summary report is delivered, or agent enters alert mode awaiting manual instruction
