What This Skill Does

Manages tasks and projects on a self-hosted Vikunja instance via REST API. Supports creating, listing, completing, and searching tasks, checking overdue or upcoming due dates, and organizing work into projects.

Keeps task management inside a self-hosted, privacy-controlled instance rather than relying on third-party cloud to-do services.

When to use it

  • Check what tasks are due in the next 24 hours
  • Create a shopping list task with a deadline and priority
  • Mark a completed task as done by ID
  • List all projects to find where to file a new task
  • Get notified of overdue tasks on a schedule

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: What tasks are overdue, and can you also create a task to call the dentist tomorrow with high priority?

AGENT
  1. 1Run vikunja.sh overdue to fetch all overdue tasks
  2. 2Parse and display the overdue task list to the user
  3. 3Run vikunja.sh create-task with --title 'Call the dentist', --due set to tomorrow's date, and --priority 4
  4. 4Confirm the new task was created successfully
OUTPUT

List of overdue tasks shown, plus confirmation that 'Call the dentist' was created with due date and priority 4
