Agent-agnostic: prefer WebFetch, fall back to feed get entry
What This Skill Does
Fetches and summarizes RSS feed entries using the `feed` CLI. Scans recent unread posts, selects high-signal items, reads full content, and compiles a themed digest. Works with any RSS/Atom feed collection managed by the feed tool.
Combining feed triage with full-text synthesis in one pass avoids the manual loop of opening tabs and skimming individually.
When to use it
- Catching up on tech blogs after a few days away
- Getting a morning digest of HN and industry news
- Searching past posts for a topic you half-remember
- Summarizing a specific feed before a meeting
- Finding contrarian or surprising takes from the week
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: What's interesting in my feeds today?
- 1Run `feed get entries --limit 50` to list recent unread posts with titles, sources, and summaries
- 2Triage the list and select 5-10 posts that are surprising, contrarian, or unusually insightful
- 3Fetch each post URL directly or use `feed get entry <id>` to read full content, parallelizing where possible
- 4Summarize each post in 2-3 sentences
- 5Compile summaries into a digest grouped by theme
A themed digest of 5-10 summarized posts with links, grouped by topic cluster
