Privacy disclosure: document that browser-use fallback transmits tracking data to cloud services
What This Skill Does
Tracks packages across USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, OnTrac, and LaserShip from a markdown table file. Auto-detects the carrier from tracking number patterns and attempts direct HTTP status checks first, falling back to browser automation for JS-heavy carrier pages. Includes privacy guidance for sensitive shipments where cloud-based browser fallback should be avoided.
Centralizes multi-carrier tracking in a single script and file rather than visiting each carrier website separately.
When to use it
- Checking status of multiple online orders in one command
- Getting a morning delivery briefing before leaving home
- Identifying which carrier is handling an unfamiliar tracking number
- Monitoring holiday packages from several retailers at once
- Tracking work shipments without visiting individual carrier websites
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: what is the status of my package with tracking number 9449050899562006763949?
- 1Run --detect flag to identify carrier from tracking number pattern
- 2Add tracking number and order details to memory/shipments.md
- 3Run shipment_tracker.py against the shipments file
- 4Check if output includes needs_browser_use: true and execute the provided browser-use command if so
- 5Return current delivery status, location, and estimated delivery date
Package identified as USPS, status: In Transit, expected delivery 2026-03-19
