Security fix: Replace shell profile modification with dedicated config file (~/.config/bitaxe-monitor/config.json). Removed all code that writes to ~/.bashrc, ~/.zshrc, or ~/.profile.
What This Skill Does
Fetches real-time status from Bitaxe Gamma Bitcoin miners over their local HTTP API. Returns hashrate averages, power consumption, ASIC and voltage regulator temperatures, fan speed, share counts, and pool connection data. Output can be formatted as human-readable text or raw JSON.
Queries the miner's built-in REST API directly, so no third-party dashboard, cloud account, or additional software is required.
When to use it
- Checking current hashrate and 10-minute average during a mining session
- Monitoring ASIC temperature to catch overheating before it causes downtime
- Verifying accepted vs rejected share counts on a connected pool
- Comparing power draw across multiple miners on the same network
- Scripting periodic status snapshots to a log file for trend analysis
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: What is my Bitaxe miner's current status?
- 1Save miner IP to config with --set-ip 192.168.1.100
- 2Run bitaxe_status.py to call the /api/system/info endpoint
- 3Parse response fields for hashrate, temperature, power, and share stats
- 4Format and display results as labeled text with emoji indicators
Formatted status showing hashrate in GH/s, ASIC temperature, power consumption in watts, fan RPM, and accepted/rejected share counts
