What This Skill Does
Gives AI agents the ability to make purchases using virtual cards issued by Proxy. Agents create spending intents, retrieve card credentials, and complete transactions within configured policy limits. High-value purchases can be routed to a human approver before the card is unlocked.
Combines card issuance, policy enforcement, and human-approval gating in a single API layer, removing the need to build separate spend controls around a raw payment processor.
When to use it
- Auto-purchasing API credits when an agent's quota runs low
- Paying for cloud compute during an unattended pipeline run
- Buying software licenses within a pre-approved spending threshold
- Routing unexpectedly large purchases to a human before checkout
- Attaching receipts and evidence to agent-initiated transactions for audit
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: buy $50 of API credits from OpenAI
- 1Call proxy.kyc.status and proxy.balance.get to confirm the account is funded
- 2Call proxy.policies.simulate to check whether the purchase will be auto-approved
- 3Call proxy.intents.create with purpose='Buy API credits', expectedAmount=5000, expectedMerchant='OpenAI'
- 4If approval is required, call proxy.intents.request_approval with context explaining the threshold
- 5Call proxy.cards.get_sensitive to retrieve card credentials and complete checkout
Virtual card credentials returned; transaction logged and retrievable via proxy.transactions.list_for_card
