Version History

v2.0.0Feb 10, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Major update: Pivoted to AI Planning Coach. Now live on Telegram (@fourtooneplannerbot). Correct 4to1 Method hierarchy: 4 Years → 3 Months → 2 Weeks → 1 Day. All templates free. Supports Notion, Todoist, Google Calendar, local Markdown.

What This Skill Does

The 4To1 Method structures goal planning into four linked layers: a 4-year vision, 3-month milestones, 2-week sprints, and daily tasks. Every task connects upward through this hierarchy so nothing drifts without a strategic reason. The skill guides initial setup, daily check-ins, weekly reviews, and quarterly planning across multiple backends.

Unlike flat to-do systems, every task is explicitly tied to a higher-level goal, making it visible when daily work has drifted from the original vision.

When to use it

  • Setting up a new goal planning system with vision and sprint layers
  • Running a Sunday weekly review to log wins and plan next week
  • Getting today's top 3 focus tasks based on the current sprint
  • Checking quarterly milestone completion at end of a quarter
  • Adding a new task and linking it to the correct project and sprint layer

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: What should I focus on today?

AGENT
  1. 1Read backend config to identify which storage system is active
  2. 2Query current 2-week sprint tasks and project priorities from the backend
  3. 3Identify any projects with no recent progress
  4. 4Select top 3 tasks, each linked to a 3-month milestone
  5. 5Append stall alerts and any Not-To-Do reminders
OUTPUT

A prioritized list of 3 tasks for the day, each labeled with the sprint project and quarterly milestone it serves, plus any stall or boundary alerts
