What This Skill Does
Neynar Inbox provides an email address for AI agents via REST API. Create a mailbox, send and receive emails, and search messages without OAuth or browser-based setup. The API key is issued once on mailbox creation and cannot be recovered if lost.
Standard email APIs require OAuth flows or SMTP credentials tied to an existing account; this service issues a working inbox with a single unauthenticated API call.
When to use it
- Giving an AI agent its own email address for outbound notifications
- Receiving user replies in an automated email pipeline
- Polling an inbox on a schedule to process incoming support requests
- Searching past email threads for specific keywords or records
- Triggering downstream logic via webhook when new email arrives
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: give my agent an email address and send a test message to a recipient
- 1POST to /v1/mailboxes to create a mailbox and receive the API key
- 2Store the returned API key immediately, as it cannot be retrieved again
- 3POST to /v1/emails with the recipient address, subject, and message body
- 4Poll GET /v1/emails?direction=inbound to check for replies
Agent has a dedicated email address and the test message is delivered to the recipient
