What This Skill Does
Searches the ArXiv preprint repository and summarizes papers by keyword, author, or category. Fetches abstracts and, if requested, extracts details from the full PDF. All papers discussed are appended to a local research log for long-term tracking.
Combines search, summarization, and persistent logging in one pass, so you get a searchable record without manually copying paper details.
When to use it
- Getting a daily digest of new AI agent papers
- Looking up a specific paper by its ArXiv ID
- Finding recent work on a narrow topic like LLM reasoning
- Building a running log of papers reviewed over weeks
- Doing a deeper read of a paper's methods via its PDF link
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Find the latest papers on LLM reasoning on ArXiv
- 1Run scripts/search_arxiv.sh "LLM reasoning" to query the ArXiv API and retrieve XML results
- 2Parse each entry for title, authors, summary, and PDF link
- 3Present a concise summary of each paper to the user
- 4Append title, authors, date, and summary for each discussed paper to memory/RESEARCH_LOG.md
A list of recent LLM reasoning papers with summaries, all logged to RESEARCH_LOG.md for future reference
