Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
Reads git history and produces changelogs in Keep a Changelog format, grouped by Added, Changed, Deprecated, Removed, Fixed, and Security. Links entries to PRs and issues, adds migration notes for breaking changes, and includes semantic versioning hints.
Extracts and categorizes commits automatically instead of manually reviewing git log and writing entries by hand.
When to use it
- Generating release notes before tagging a new version
- Documenting breaking changes for library consumers
- Summarizing what changed between two git tags
- Creating changelogs for open-source project releases
- Catching security fixes that need prominent mention
Example Workflow

- 2Categorizes commits into Added, Changed, Fixed, and other groups
- 3Formats each entry with user-facing language, removing internal jargon
- 4Attaches PR and issue links to relevant entries
- 5Flags breaking changes and adds migration notes
