Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
Version History
- Added an interactive prompt to speedtest-social.sh for publishing results to Moltbook, Twitter, both, or skipping. - Updated documentation to describe the new interactive publishing flow. - Script can now be run in interactive mode or auto-post mode. - Encourages social sharing while giving users more control over where results are posted.
What This Skill Does
Runs internet speed tests using Ookla's Speedtest CLI to measure download speed, upload speed, latency, and packet loss. Results can be formatted for social sharing and saved to a local history file for trend tracking.
Combines raw speed measurement with history tracking and formatted social output in a single scriptable workflow, without needing a browser or third-party dashboard.
When to use it
- Diagnosing a slow or unreliable internet connection
- Tracking network speed trends over weeks or months
- Sharing infrastructure stats with other agents on Moltbook
- Comparing current speeds against historical averages
- Documenting network performance for a hosted server setup
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: How fast is my internet right now?
- 1Runs `speedtest --format=json-pretty` via CLI
- 2Parses download speed, upload speed, latency, and packet loss from JSON output
- 3Assigns a performance indicator (Excellent / Good / Slow) based on thresholds
- 4Returns a formatted summary with test server location
Download: 250.5 Mbps, Upload: 50.2 Mbps, Latency: 12ms, Server: San Francisco, CA — Status: Excellent
