What This Skill Does

Defines and evaluates 6 quality gateways for any application repository: build health, test coverage, security, performance, code maintainability, and release readiness. Each gateway produces a 0-100 score with PASS/WARN/FAIL status using thresholds from a config file stored in the repo. Outputs a Markdown and JSON report with per-gateway scores, evidence paths, and a blocker list.

Covers all six quality dimensions in one pass with a single config file instead of maintaining separate scripts and thresholds for each concern.

When to use it

  • Generating a pre-release quality report before deploying to production
  • Checking whether a pull request meets test coverage and security thresholds
  • Auditing dependency vulnerabilities and license compliance across a codebase
  • Verifying runbooks and monitoring alerts exist before a go-live
  • Tracking code complexity and duplication trends across sprints

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: evaluate this repo for release readiness

AGENT
  1. 1Load and validate .defs/quality-gateway-definition.json from the repo root
  2. 2Collect metrics for each of the 6 gateways from CI artifacts and repo files
  3. 3Score each check 0-100 using the configured scoring method and thresholds
  4. 4Compute weighted gateway scores and determine PASS/WARN/FAIL status per gateway
  5. 5Write docs/quality/quality-gate-report.md and quality-gate-report.json with scores, evidence paths, and any blockers
OUTPUT

A Markdown report and JSON report showing per-gateway scores, a BLOCKERS list for any blocking failures, and evidence file references
