What This Skill Does
CLI for Microsoft 365 provides command-line access to Microsoft 365 workloads including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Planner, and Entra ID. It is the official PnP (Patterns and Practices) tool maintained by the Microsoft community. Supports multiple authentication methods including device code, certificate, client secret, and managed identity.
It covers the full Microsoft 365 surface area in a single CLI with JMESPath filtering and JSON output, removing the need to switch between the Graph API, admin portals, and separate PowerShell modules.
When to use it
- Listing all SharePoint sites in a tenant from the command line
- Pulling Outlook calendar events or inbox messages via script
- Managing Teams channels and members in automated workflows
- Auditing Entra ID users and groups across a Microsoft 365 tenant
- Generating Planner task reports in CI pipelines
