What This Skill Does
A CLI toolkit for diagnosing and managing servers from an AI agent. Covers Docker container management, process inspection, log analysis, and HTTP health checks. Runs using Python's standard library with no external dependencies.
Consolidates common production diagnostics into a single dependency-free Python script, avoiding the need to remember separate commands for ps, netstat, docker, and curl.
When to use it
- Checking Docker container health after a deployment
- Finding which process is consuming the most CPU on a production server
- Scanning application logs for error patterns and their frequency
- Verifying HTTP endpoints are responding before an on-call shift
- Getting a full system snapshot (CPU, memory, disk, ports) in one command
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: My app is responding slowly, what's going on?
- 1Run `devops.py diag` to get a full system health snapshot
- 2Run `devops.py proc list --sort cpu` to identify top resource consumers
- 3Run `devops.py docker health` to check for unhealthy or stopped containers
- 4Run `devops.py logs analyze /var/log/app.log --pattern 'error|fail'` to surface recent failures
Report showing CPU-heavy processes, container status, and top error patterns from logs
