What This Skill Does

Bird DM is an add-on to the bird CLI that reads X/Twitter direct messages. It lists DM conversations and retrieves message threads by conversation ID. Authentication uses the browser session already established by bird.

Reads DMs without requiring X API credentials by reusing the browser cookie session that bird already manages.

When to use it

  • Check unread DMs from followers
  • List active conversations with latest message previews
  • Read a full conversation thread by ID
  • Export DM data as JSON for archiving or scripting
  • Monitor group chats for new activity

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
