What This Skill Does
Generates a student worksheet PDF, a step-by-step answer key PDF, and a skills summary PDF for any K-12 math topic. Compiles LaTeX locally using tectonic, which auto-downloads packages on first run. Covers topics from elementary arithmetic through pre-calculus, including coordinate grids, geometric figures, and multi-part problems.
Produces print-quality PDF worksheets with proper math notation, diagrams, and work space using LaTeX, without requiring a full TeX distribution to be installed.
When to use it
- Making a 10-problem homework sheet on solving two-step equations
- Creating an answer key for a tutoring session on factoring trinomials
- Building a timed quiz for an 8th-grade pre-algebra class
- Generating a study guide before a geometry test
- Reproducing worksheet format from a photographed textbook page
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Make a 10-problem worksheet on factoring trinomials for my Algebra 1 student
- 1Detects the best available reasoning model for accurate problem generation
- 2Designs 10 factoring problems scaled from simple to complex for Algebra 1 level
- 3Writes three LaTeX source files: student worksheet, answer key, and skills summary
- 4Runs SymPy verification on each problem to confirm solutions are correct
- 5Compiles all three files to PDF using tectonic and saves to ~/Documents/Worksheets/
Three PDFs: ws_algebra1_factoring_2026-03-19.pdf, ak_algebra1_factoring_2026-03-19.pdf, ss_algebra1_factoring_2026-03-19.pdf
