What This Skill Does
Builds a practical 24-hour onboard schedule for seafarers, covering watch rotations, sleep protection, duty handovers, and internet-budgeted work windows. Takes vessel type, role, timezone, watch model, and bandwidth constraints as inputs.
Unlike generic scheduling tools, it enforces maritime fatigue rules, calculates per-day internet budgets, and adapts duty blocks to vessel type and role.
When to use it
- Planning a 4/4 watch rotation for a cargo vessel officer
- Protecting sleep blocks during a multi-day offshore passage
- Scheduling low-bandwidth work windows on a 4 GB/week data plan
- Structuring duty handovers between watch officers at sea
- Fitting study time around a solo yacht watch cycle
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Build a schedule for a cargo vessel OOW on a 4/4 watch starting at 08:00 with 4 GB/week internet and sleep as the top priority
- 1Captures vessel type (cargo), role (OOW), watch model (4/4), start time (08:00), and internet limit (4 GB/week)
- 2Selects 4/4 sleep model, protecting minimum 6h sleep with one uninterrupted 3h+ core block
- 3Generates 24h timeline with on-watch, sleep, meal, weather review, and role duty blocks
- 4Adds start-of-watch handover checklist and 2-4 daily safety scan windows
- 5Calculates daily MB target (~571 MB/day) and applies offline-first content policy
A 24h bullet-point schedule with watch/sleep/duty blocks, 5 non-negotiables, and a daily traffic budget line
