Version History
Addressed audit findings: declared env requirements (API Token, Zone ID), verified manifest inclusion of sudoers.example, and standardized metadata.
What This Skill Does
Manages Cloudflare DNS records, tunnel ingress configuration, and Zero Trust policies through Python scripts and the Cloudflare API. Supports adding, listing, and deleting DNS records, and updating local cloudflared tunnel routing rules.
Combines DNS management and tunnel ingress configuration into a single scripted interface instead of switching between the Cloudflare dashboard and cloudflared CLI separately.
When to use it
- Adding a DNS A record to point a subdomain to a new server IP
- Exposing a local development service through a Cloudflare tunnel
- Listing all DNS records for a zone
- Updating tunnel ingress to route traffic to a different internal service
- Previewing config changes before applying them with dry-run mode
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: expose my local app at localhost:3000 through Cloudflare tunnel at app.example.com
- 1Verify CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKEN and CLOUDFLARE_ZONE_ID are present in the environment
- 2Run update-ingress with --dry-run to preview the config.yml change
- 3Apply the ingress update with sudo to write the config and restart the cloudflared service
- 4Add a DNS record pointing app.example.com to the tunnel endpoint
Tunnel ingress updated and DNS record created; app.example.com routes to localhost:3000
