Initial release: LINE messaging via Chrome extension gateway
What This Skill Does
Python client for the LINE messaging platform via LINE's Chrome extension JSON gateway. Supports sending and receiving messages, managing contacts and groups, handling reactions, and updating profiles. Authentication requires scanning a QR code in the LINE mobile app, with tokens valid for approximately 7 days.
LINE has no official API for personal accounts, and this library provides one of the few ways to automate personal LINE interactions without screen scraping.
When to use it
- Automating LINE message sends from a Python script
- Polling a LINE group chat for incoming messages
- Looking up or adding LINE contacts by phone number
- Marking conversations as read in bulk
- Reacting to messages with emoji responses programmatically
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

- 1Load auth token from ~/.line-client/tokens.json
- 2Initialize LineChromeClient with the auth token
- 3Call client.send_message('U1234abc', 'Meeting at 3pm')
- 4Catch APIError(10051) if token is expired and prompt re-authentication via QR login
