What This Skill Does

Reads emails and extracts calendar events from them, then creates entries in Google Calendar after user confirmation. Works in two modes: scanning your inbox directly for event-related emails, or processing emails you forward to a dedicated address. Includes duplicate detection, undo support, and deadline reminder events for RSVPs and ticket purchases.

Tracks every processed email and checks for duplicates before creating events, so the same event appearing in multiple emails doesn't produce multiple calendar entries.

When to use it

  • Forwarding a concert invite email to auto-create a calendar event
  • Scanning unread inbox emails for meetings, dates, or event keywords
  • Creating a separate deadline reminder when an email has an RSVP or ticket cutoff
  • Undoing a calendar event created from a misread or duplicate email
  • Getting an email alert when a newly created event requires action before a deadline

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Process this forwarded email about a Spring Concert with a ticket deadline of February 15

AGENT
  1. 1Checks index.json to confirm the email ID hasn't been processed before
  2. 2Reads the full email body via email_read.sh to extract event title, date, time, URLs, and deadline
  3. 3Presents extracted events to the user with ignore and auto-create rules applied, then waits for confirmation
  4. 4Runs lookup_event.sh to check for an existing duplicate calendar entry
  5. 5Creates the main Spring Concert event and a 30-minute deadline reminder event on February 15 via create_event.sh, then sends a notification email if deadline notifications are enabled in config
OUTPUT

Two calendar events created: Spring Concert on March 1 and 'DEADLINE: Get tickets for Spring Concert' on February 15, with an email notification sent to the configured recipient
