Version History

v3.0.0Mar 4, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

## domain-authority-auditor 3.0.0 Changelog - Major version update with compatibility metadata added (supports Claude Code, skills.sh, ClawHub, Vercel Labs skills). - Expanded and reorganized tags for better SEO skill discovery. - Refined and clarified usage instructions, use cases, and trigger list. - Reworded and shortened several descriptions for clarity and conciseness. - Added sample output reference report: `references/example-report.md`. - No change to the underlying audit methodology or scoring system.

What This Skill Does

Runs a 40-item domain authority audit using the CITE framework, scoring domains across Citation, Identity, Trust, and Eminence dimensions. Applies domain-type-specific weights (content publisher, e-commerce, SaaS, and others) to produce a weighted score. Includes veto checks for manipulation signals that can cap the score regardless of other results.

Unlike single-number metrics from Moz DA or Ahrefs DR, CITE breaks domain authority into four auditable dimensions with domain-type-specific weights and hard veto checks that flag manipulation signals regardless of other scores.

When to use it

  • Checking if a competitor domain is trustworthy before citing it as a source
  • Evaluating domain health after a link-building campaign
  • Spotting link farm or PBN signals before acquiring a domain
  • Benchmarking your site against competitors before a GEO campaign
  • Assessing a client site's authority before starting SEO work

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Audit domain authority for myblog.com as a content publisher

AGENT
  1. 1Sets domain type to Content Publisher and applies corresponding dimension weights (C 40%, I 15%, T 20%, E 25%)
  2. 2Checks veto items T03, T05, T09 first and flags any triggers, capping the score at 39 if one fires
  3. 3Scores all 40 CITE items across Citation, Identity, Trust, and Eminence as Pass, Partial, or Fail
  4. 4Calculates weighted CITE Score and per-dimension scores (0-100 each)
  5. 5Generates Top 5 priority improvements sorted by weighted impact and produces a tiered action plan
OUTPUT

Full CITE audit report with dimension scores, per-item breakdown, veto status, Top 5 improvements with weighted point-gain estimates, and a Quick Wins / Medium Effort / Strategic action plan
