Version History
Photoshop Automator 1.2.4 - Updated documentation to reflect version 1.2.4. - No feature or API changes; internal and meta files updated.
What This Skill Does
Automates Adobe Photoshop on Windows and macOS via ExtendScript, using VBScript or AppleScript as a bridge. Supports text layer edits, layer creation, filter application, action playback, and PNG/JPEG export. Works with Photoshop CS6 through 2026+.
Drives Photoshop's native ExtendScript engine directly rather than relying on image libraries that lack layer-aware PSD editing.
When to use it
- Batch updating text layers across multiple open PSD files
- Exporting finished designs to PNG or JPEG without manual steps
- Applying Gaussian blur filters during automated image processing
- Triggering recorded Photoshop actions from an external agent
- Creating layers with specific blend modes in a design pipeline

- 4Return the output file path to the user
