Version History
Handle Google auth failures cleanly; planner continues when Google is unavailable; add security wiring notes for vdirsyncer/binary paths.
What This Skill Does
Wraps gcalcli to query Google Calendar and optionally syncs CalDAV sources via vdirsyncer and khal. A planner script reads your calendar and outputs a JSON list of upcoming reminders with UTC timestamps. A cron job or agent turn then creates one-shot OpenClaw reminders from that plan.
Normalizes Google Calendar and CalDAV sources into a single JSON reminder plan, so one cron job schedules reminders across multiple calendar backends without custom glue code.
When to use it
- Getting reminded of timed Google Calendar events before they start
- Syncing iCloud or CalDAV calendars into the reminder pipeline
- Filtering all-day events by keyword to avoid reminder noise
- Running a daily reminder scheduler on a headless or remote server
- Deduplicating reminder scheduling across multiple calendar backends
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Schedule today's calendar reminders
- 1Runs the vdirsyncer sync command if CalDAV is enabled in config
- 2Calls calendar_reminder_plan.py to fetch upcoming events via gcalcli
- 3Applies filtering: skips birthdays, matches all-day events against configured keywords
- 4Outputs a JSON plan with each event and its reminderAtUtc timestamp
- 5Creates one-shot OpenClaw systemEvent reminders from the JSON plan
One-shot reminders scheduled for each qualifying event in the day's calendar
