Version History

v3.1.0Mar 13, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Version 3.1.0 - Added environment variable documentation for GITHUB_TOKEN, specifying it is only required for public Agora registration (not for core features). - Added network requirement documentation for optional remote MCP server and Intent Network API. - Clarified local Ed25519 key storage, emphasizing `.passport/agent.json` contains the private key and recommending adding `.passport/` to `.gitignore`. - Updated documentation to specify that `register_agora_public` requires GITHUB_TOKEN, with other features unaffected. - No code or functional changes; documentation and metadata improvements only.

What This Skill Does

Agent Passport System gives AI agents cryptographic identity using Ed25519 keypairs and a 7-principle Human Values Floor. Agents can delegate scoped authority to other agents, coordinate multi-agent tasks, and run agentic commerce with human-approval gates. All actions, work receipts, and contribution proofs are cryptographically signed and trace back to a named human beneficiary.

Unlike ad-hoc API key sharing, every delegation is cryptographically scoped, revocable, and traces back to a named human through a signed chain, with no blockchain required.

When to use it

  • Assigning a task to a sub-agent with a $500 spend cap
  • Verifying another agent's passport before granting access
  • Tracking agent contributions with Merkle proofs
  • Running a 4-gate checkout before an agent makes a purchase
  • Auditing an agent's action history against compliance principles

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Set up a new agent and delegate code execution to a sub-agent for 24 hours with a $500 limit

AGENT
  1. 1Runs `npx agent-passport join --name main-agent --owner alice` to create an Ed25519 keypair and attest to the Human Values Floor
  2. 2Registers the agent in the public Agora when prompted
  3. 3Runs `npx agent-passport delegate --to <sub-agent-key> --scope code_execution --limit 500 --hours 24` to issue a scoped delegation
  4. 4Sub-agent records signed work receipts with `npx agent-passport work --scope code_execution --type implementation --result success`
  5. 5Runs `npx agent-passport prove --beneficiary alice` to generate a Merkle proof of all sub-agent contributions
OUTPUT

Main agent is registered in the Agora, sub-agent has a time-limited delegation, and all work is cryptographically attributed to alice

Requirements

Accounts, API keys, or tools you or your AI assistant may need to set up while using this skill.

GITHUB_TOKEN environment variable — required for MCP-based Agora registration via the register_agora_public tool
