What This Skill Does

Connects OpenClaw agents to Settld MCP for paid tool calls using the x402 challenge/authorize/retry flow. Agents can call paid search and weather tools, manage settlement agreement lifecycles, and capture verifiable payment receipts as audit artifacts.

The x402 flow lets agents authorize and complete paid tool calls automatically rather than requiring manual credential management per tool provider.

When to use it

  • Running paid web searches from an agent with automatic x402 billing
  • Fetching real-time weather data through a paid tool call with receipt headers
  • Creating and resolving settlement agreements in an automated agent workflow
  • Capturing audit-grade payment receipts for each billable tool invocation
  • Scoping paid API access by tenant policy across multiple agent deployments

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Get the current weather in Chicago in fahrenheit and include the payment headers.

AGENT
  1. 1Call settld.about to verify Settld connectivity
  2. 2Call settld.weather_current_paid with location Chicago and unit fahrenheit
  3. 3Capture x-settld-* response headers from the tool result
  4. 4Return weather data alongside the verifiable settlement headers
OUTPUT

Current Chicago weather in fahrenheit with x-settld-receipt and related payment headers confirming the tool call was authorized and settled
