Add Step 2: Decompose phrases to meme core - strip variations to root catchphrase before searching (e.g. 'не всех блядей перекорёжило' → 'блядей корёжит мем')
What This Skill Does
Analyzes memes by decomposing visual, text, and format layers, then researching every cultural reference via web search in the original language. Covers humor mechanisms from self-deprecation to post-irony, with deep coverage of Russian-language meme culture including political quotes, Soviet film references, and internet-specific formats. Runs interactively when a user shares a meme or in batch mode during Telegram channel ingestion.
It searches in the meme's original language rather than translating first, which is the only reliable way to identify Russian-specific references that don't exist in Western training data.
When to use it
- Decoding a Russian political meme shared in a group chat
- Identifying the original quote or event behind unfamiliar meme text
- Batch-processing new memes from monitored Telegram channels
- Classifying irony depth in shitposting channel content
- Building a searchable knowledge base of recurring meme templates and references
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: explain this meme (image: neuron diagram with text 'Нас 25 тысяч и мы идём выполнять простейшие повседневные задачи')
- 1Decomposes visual layer (neuron diagram), text layer (Russian phrase), and format (single panel, no known template)
- 2Searches 'Нас 25 тысяч и мы идём' in Russian, identifies Prigozhin's June 2023 Wagner mutiny voice message where the original line was 'мы идём на Москву'
- 3Notes that 'на Москву' is replaced with 'выполнять повседневные задачи', and the neuron background implies 25,000 neurons instead of roughly 86 billion
- 4Classifies mechanism as Mashup and irony depth as 2 (post-ironic self-deprecation about cognitive capacity)
- 5Outputs structured explanation with REFERENCE, TWIST, HUMOR, IRONY, and CONTEXT fields
The meme reframes Prigozhin's dramatic military mobilization as a brain struggling to complete basic daily tasks, implying the person has only 25,000 neurons and needs a full military-scale effort just to function.
