Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
Detects personally identifiable information (PII) in text using Expanso Edge. Runs as a CLI pipeline for one-off scans or as an MCP server for agent workflow integration. Can also be deployed to Expanso Cloud for remote job execution.
Runs locally via Expanso Edge, so text data stays in your environment rather than being sent to a third-party cloud API for analysis.
When to use it
- Scanning application logs for accidentally captured email addresses or phone numbers
- Checking customer support transcripts before storing or sharing externally
- Auditing exported database records for compliance review
- Filtering user-generated content before indexing or downstream analysis
- Validating API responses to catch personal data leaking through
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Check this support ticket text for any PII
- 1Receives the text input
- 2Pipes it through the expanso-edge CLI using pipeline-cli.yaml
- 3Expanso Edge analyzes the content against PII detection rules
- 4Parses pipeline output for detected entity types and positions
- 5Returns identified PII categories and their locations in the text
List of detected PII entities such as email addresses, phone numbers, or names, with their positions in the input text
