Version History

v1.1.0Feb 11, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

v1.1.0: Full working implementation with web fetch, diffing, and alerts

What This Skill Does

Monitors competitor websites, pricing pages, product pages, and social accounts for changes. Alerts you with summaries when something meaningful shifts. Tiered monitoring lets you watch direct rivals closely and adjacent companies at a lighter cadence.

Tiered monitoring with noise-filtered diffing means you get alerted on actual product and pricing changes, not ad rotations or timestamp updates.

When to use it

  • Finding out a competitor raised prices before your sales team gets blindsided
  • Catching a rival's feature launch the same day it goes live
  • Tracking when a competitor's docs page adds a new integration
  • Monitoring a fast-growing startup's homepage for signs of a pivot
  • Getting a daily digest of what changed across your competitive landscape

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Monitor Acme Corp pricing and alert me when anything changes

AGENT
  1. 1Runs add-competitor.sh to register Acme Corp as a fierce rival with the pricing and features pages flagged
  2. 2Schedules check.sh --tier fierce via cron to run every 30 minutes
  3. 3Fetches the pricing page and stores a timestamped snapshot locally
  4. 4On next run, compares the new snapshot to the previous one using diff.sh, filtering out session IDs, cache busters, and ad content
  5. 5Detects a new Enterprise tier and a Pro price increase, scores the change as Major, and generates an alert summary
OUTPUT

Alert showing the old and new pricing, which tiers changed, and a path to the full diff file stored locally
