Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
Takes any image and generates a 16-frame animated pixel art GIF using Google Gemini. Supports four animation types: idle, wave, bounce, and dance. A single AI request fills all frames at once, keeping pixel art style consistent across the animation.
Single-request generation keeps pixel art style consistent across all 16 frames, avoiding the visual drift that occurs when frames are generated separately.
When to use it
- Turning a profile photo into an animated pixel art avatar
- Creating idle or walking sprites for an indie game character
- Animating a pet photo as a looping bounce GIF
- Generating dance animations from hand-drawn character art
- Making wave or idle stickers from any reference image
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: 'Animate avatar.png as a wave animation and save it as wave.gif'
- 1Runs sprite-animator with -i avatar.png -o wave.gif -a wave
- 2Creates a labeled 4x4 grid template for 16 animation frames
- 3Sends the template and source image to Gemini in one request
- 4Extracts individual frames from the returned sprite sheet
- 5Assembles frames into a looping animated GIF
wave.gif, a 16-frame pixel art animation of the avatar raising and lowering its arm
